Change of Direction & Pace
This week is all about breaking defenders with speed, sharp turns, and control. Players will push their left foot and weak foot to become more unpredictable and dangerous on the ball. Every session is high intensity, with nonstop dribbling battles, small-sided games, and fun competitions that reward quick thinking and explosive movement.
Why it Matters
Soccer is a game of rhythm, and the best players know how to change it in an instant. Learning to stop, cut, and accelerate past an opponent creates space and opportunities. Mastering change of pace gives players an edge in 1v1 duels, helps them escape pressure, and builds confidence to take risks that can decide the game.
What’s Covered
1. Weak-foot dribbling moves, cuts, and feints
2. Stop-start mechanics to unbalance defenders
3. First-step acceleration after turns
4. Using pace changes to beat opponents in 1v1s and 2v2s
5. Applying direction and pace changes in small-sided games
